Grounding Static Guy Wire

Grounding Static Guy Wire, also known as guy wire, messenger wire, Galvanized Steel Wire (GSW), and Galvanized Steel Conductor (SC/GZ), is manufactured in accordance with ASTM A363/A475, BS 183, GOST 3063, and AS/NZS 1222.1 standards.

It is available in utilities, common, high strength, and extra high strength grades and is used in the electricity industry as an overhead grounding wire, static wire, guy wire, and messenger wire. Its applications include staying power poles and tower structures, aerial transmission cables, and overhead ground wires.

The Grounding Static Guy Wire features a uniform and firm hot-dip zinc coating, providing a bright and clean surface. It boasts excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance, ensuring durability in harsh environments. Additionally, it offers high tensile strength and robust temperature resistance, making it ideal for demanding applications in the electricity industry.

    Construction

    ● Shape of Conductor: Circular and sectional
    ● Wire Coating: Galvanized
    ● Conductor Material: Galvanized Steel Wire Stranded
    ● The single wires are concentrically stranded and wrapped helically around a central wire.
    ● Zinc-Coated Grade of Steel Strand Wire/Guy Wire: Class A, Class B, and Class C
    ● Concentrically stranded galvanized steel wire strand is available in Class “A,” “B,” and “C” galvanizing, with Class “A” being the least heavy and Class “C” being the most heavy.

    Standard

    ASTM A363

    1. Title: Standard Specification for Zinc-Coated (Galvanized) Steel Overhead Ground Wire Strand.
    2. Scope: ASTM A363, published by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), covers the requirements for zinc-coated (galvanized) steel overhead ground wire strand. The standard specifies the construction, zinc coating, mechanical properties, and performance criteria necessary for effective use in overhead ground wire applications. It ensures the wire strand meets durability, conductivity, and safety standards required for electrical infrastructure.

    ASTM A475

    1. Title: Standard Specification for Zinc-Coated Steel Wire Strand
    2. Scope: ASTM A475, issued by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), covers the specifications for zinc-coated steel wire strand. This standard outlines the construction, zinc coating requirements, tensile strength, and performance properties for the wire strand used in various applications including guying, messenger support, and electrical grounding. It ensures the wire strand adheres to the necessary durability and performance standards.

    BS 183

    1. Title: Specification for General Purpose Galvanized Steel Wire Strand
    2. Scope: BS 183, published by the British Standards Institution (BSI), specifies the requirements for general-purpose galvanized steel wire strand. This standard covers the construction, mechanical properties, and zinc coating criteria for steel wire strands used in general engineering applications, including fencing, guying, and structural support. It ensures the wire strand meets the required strength, durability, and corrosion resistance standards.

    AS NZS 1222.1

    1. Title: Steel Wire for Overhead Line Conductors - Part 1: Zinc-Coated (Galvanized)
    2. Scope: AS/NZS 1222.1, published jointly by Standards Australia and Standards New Zealand, sets the specifications for zinc-coated (galvanized) steel wire used in overhead line conductors. The standard defines the requirements for the construction, zinc coating, mechanical properties, and performance of the steel wire to ensure it meets the standards for electrical transmission and distribution. It ensures reliability, strength, and corrosion resistance for overhead line applications.

    GOST 3063

    1. Title: Steel Wire for Telegraph and Telephone Lines
    2. Scope: GOST 3063, issued by the Russian Federation's National Standards Body, sets the specifications for steel wire used in telegraph and telephone lines. This standard outlines the requirements for the construction, mechanical properties, and coating of steel wire to ensure it meets the necessary performance and safety criteria for communication line applications. It ensures the wire's strength, durability, and reliability for effective communication infrastructure.
