PSD Cable

PSD also called Cable Distribución Aérea, consists of one, two or three copper or aluminium conductors, with individual thermoplastic insulation of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in black, helically arranged around a bare copper or aluminium messenger neutral conductor.

It is used in overhead distribution systems for low-voltage electrical power and ideal for aerial connections of secondary services. It is also suitable for both permanent and temporary electrical lighting installations in general.

Construction

● Copper Conductors: Insulated copper conductors are manufactured in soft temper, while the bare conductor is in hard or semi-hard temper (CFE).

● Aluminum Conductors: Insulated conductors and bare aluminum conductors are made with hard-tempered alloy 1350 (H19).

● ACSR Conductors: Manufactured with hard-tempered aluminum alloy 1350 (H19) and a steel core for additional strength and durability.

● Insulation: Black HDPE insulation provides resistance to sunlight.
